Health Minister Micheál Martin is under pressure to establish a public inquiry into the actions of a Co Louth doctor who was struck off the medical register yesterday.

Health Minister Micheál Martin is under pressure to establish a public inquiry into the actions of a Co Louth doctor who was struck off the medical register yesterday.

Michael Neary, an obstetrician in Drogheda, was struck off by the Irish Medical Council for needlessly removing the wombs of 10 women.

Several women have sued Mr Neary in relation to the procedures and one woman has already secured €250,000 in damages at the High Court.
