Next phase of Flood Tribunal resumes this morning
The next phase of the planning and payments tribunal formally resumes at Dublin castle later this morning.
The tribunal, which was established in 1997, will now investigate the controversial re-zoning of land at Jackson way in Carrickmines, Co Dublin.
Frank Dunlop, a former journalist, and one time press secretary to Charles Haughey while Taoiseach, is expected to confirm that he received large sums of money from a number of prominent businessmen.
The money was given to him with a view to making payments to certain councillors in Dublin, who in turn voted to have the land re-zoned.
A number of current councillors have already been granted legal representation. Barristers representing a number of deceased councillors will also contribute to this stage of the tribunal.
Justice Flood resumes the hearing at 10.30am in Dublin Castle.
