FBI agent, British ambassador to testify in McKevitt trial
A senior FBI agent and the British ambassador are expected to give evidence at the preliminary trial of alleged IRA leader, Michael McKevitt, today.
McKevitt, 51, from Blackrock in Co Louth, is charged with directing terrorism and could face life in prison if found guilty.
Ambassador Ivor Roberts will testify in relation to documents given to lawyers acting for McKevitt, regarding the main prosecution witness, David Rupert.
Rupert infiltrated the Real IRA and became heavily involved with the accused.
Yesterday the court heard that two groups were responsible for the Omagh bombing, the Real IRA who built the bomb and the Continuity IRA who detonated it.
