NCB Corporate Finance has been appointed to find an investor to save beleaguered national carrier Aer Lingus from bankcruptcy.

The Government already planned to privatise the airline but those plans were put on hold because of the lack of interest from investors.

Yesterday, the ICTU's David Begg urged Mr Ahern to increase pressure on the European Commission to change its law banning state aid for airlines.
