New policing plan doesn't go far enough - SF
Sinn Fein says the new British plan for policing in the North does not go far enough.
The pro-Agreement parties have already seen the plan, which is expected to be made public tomorrow.
Mitchell McLaughlin says there is no substantive change between the new document and the existing legislation and implementation plan.
Once again the party is calling for a return to the reforms recommended in the Patten Report.
All this comes as Sinn Fein continues to try and distance itself from the arrest of three IRA suspects in Colombia.
It says the arrests are only serving a as a distraction to what they view as one of the main issues that is blocking the peace process – the failure of the British to demilitarise.
