Channel Islands solicitor begins testimony at Flood Tribunal
A legal advocate from the Channel Islands has told the Flood Tribunal about a web of companies of which Ray Burke was a beneficiary.
Simon Howard is from Bedell-Christin solicitors, who act as financial advisors for personal and corporate clients in the islands.
He is aiding the tribunal in its attempts to unravel a complex system of trust funds and inventory companies.
Builders Brennan and McGowan controlled a number of these, which were based in Jersey.
Some of them transferred money into a company called Caviar Ltd, which was set up by Ray Burke and his wife Anne in May 1984, using an address in England.
The tribunal is trying to establish the trail of certain payments, the reason behind them, the beneficiaries and whether favours were granted in return.
