Debit cards OK for Euro 2016 tickets

Soccer fans who used debit cards to apply for Euro 2016 tickets will have their applications processed, following an intervention by the FAI to the governing body of football in Europe, Uefa.

It had been feared that debit card applications would be rejected after it emerged the Euro 2016 FAQs section on the FAI website stated that only a credit card would be accepted.

However, following talks in Nyon, Switzerland, between Uefa and FAI chief John Delaney, Uefa agreed that debit cards will be accepted for ticket applications for Euro 2016.
