The Bolivian public prosecutor who investigated the killing of Michael Dwyer by secret police in 2009 has told the Co Tipperary man’s mother her son was “executed”.

Marcelo Soza, who has sought refuge in Brazil after being removed from the case, also told Caroline Dwyer he found no evidence of a conspiracy to kill Bolivian president Evo Morales or that Michael Dwyer had any “criminal link” to the case.

The meeting between Caroline Dwyer and Marcelo Soza, whose probe lasted more than four years, features in the documentary Death of a Son - The Killing of Michael Dwyer which will be aired on RTÉ television tonight.
