Forecast bright for Easter holidays
Met Éireann’s John Eagleton was on the button in his predictions for some dry days last weekend and sees more of the same ahead.
“Not spectacular weather, but mostly dry,” said the meteorologist, also forecasting some showers later this week.
Today will continue dry with good sunshine but there is more cloud on the way tomorrow. “Cloud will increase from the northwest bringing outbreaks of rain and drizzle to coasts of Ulster and Connacht by the end of the morning,” says Met Éireann.
“The rain will extend inland as the day goes on but most other areas will have a largely dry day. It will still be a mild day with temperatures between 12 and 15 degrees with light southerly winds increasing moderate and veering southwest later in the day. After that, things will begin to cool down a little. Thursday looks likely being just slightly cooler with moderate west to northwest winds.
“A mixture of sunshine and scattered showers is expected with the showers mostly affecting the north and northwest.
“Good Friday looks mainly dry with some bright or sunny intervals as pressure begins to build again. Winds will be light variable and temperatures will be around normal for the time of year.”
The further outlook into the weekend of the Easter bank holiday is for light winds and temperatures between 12 and 15 degrees.
Conditions look like being mostly dry although there may be a spell of rain between Sunday and Monday.
