Eishtec expansion to create 250 jobs for South-East
Three former Talk Talk workers, Heather Reynolds, Brian Barry, and Colm Tracey, who set up Irish technical support company Eishtec, are expanding their business into Co Wexford.
Eishtec already employs 400 people in its Waterford base but now plans to move into a second premises in Drinagh, Co Wexford.
Recruitment is under way for the positions, which will come on stream quickly, with 40 being created before Christmas, and the remainder by Oct 2013.
The service and technical support roles are being welcomed in the region, where multi-national firm Talk Talk closed last year. The area was left devastated when the firm pulled out of Ireland with the loss of almost 600 jobs.
Jobs Minister Richard Bruton described Eishtec as a “model of what Ireland needs to do” in the private sector. He said the company had a “broad range of employment”.
“They are looking for people who have the aptitude to do the task. Many people form retail, hotels, construction, as well as people who were in companies like Talk Talk. They do their own training and bring people on,” he added.
The growth of Eishtec is on the back of the firm expanding its contract with EE, the company behind British telecommunications brands including Orange and T-Mobile. Eishtec offers support for Orange and T-Mobile customers with smartphones.
Co-founder Ms Reynolds said the growth of the new business was a “testament to the skills and positive attitude of the people we’ve recruited”.
“We have the skills and experience in our team to provide the highest quality services to our clients and help support the achievement of its business objectives,” she said.
