Irish people have lost trust in the public service, despite a series of reports outlining significant progress and reform in the sector.

A conference hosted by the National Economic and Social Council (NESC) in Dublin, on the quality and standards in the public services, heard there has been a “silent revolution” in the regulation of many of Ireland’s public services in recent years.

A report launched at the conference, based on a series of previous studies on public services, found that many citizens have lost trust in public services as a result of systems failures.
