Renault and Cullen end partnership after 26 years
Mr Cullen, who was the star of the Irish version of The Apprentice, hasn’t been performing to the high standard he set the budding business stars on his show.
In July, the Bill Cullen Motor Group lost the Renault franchise for two of its businesses in Ennis and Galway, with the loss of 29 jobs.
Mr Cullen’s Dublin showrooms had continued to sell Renaults at Liffey Valley and Airside, but this relationship is set to end by “mutual agreement”.
A Renault spokesperson said: “Renault and Bill Cullen announce that the Bill Cullen Motor Group will no longer be Renault dealers from 31st August 2012 in Liffey Valley and Airside. The parties have terminated their relationship by mutual agreement.
“Renault will announce separately its plans to distribute Renault vehicles and parts in the areas previously serviced by the Bill Cullen Motor Group.”
The Dublin showrooms have 60 employees between them, and though it is unclear what will happen, Mr Cullen said he had exciting news about new brands.
