Charity appoints chief executive

BÓTHAR, the Limerick-based charity which sends livestock every year to more than 5,000 families in 35 developing countries, has named second-in-command, David Moloney, as the organisation’s new chief executive.

Charity appoints chief executive

Mr Moloney, 47, from North Circular Road, Limerick, replaces founder of the organisation and chief executive for the past 20 years, Peter Ireton, who has retired.

Peter grew Bóthar from an intended one-off project of airlifting cows to Africa to mark the Limerick Treaty 300 celebrations in 1991 into a charity with a turnover of close to €8 million.
