The event “CAP to 2030 and Beyond” organised by the IFA, is now open for registration.

The event is planned to take place on May 13 in the Killashee Hotel in Kildare. This event will offer key insights into the development of the next Common Agricultural Policy (Cap) and the future direction of the EU’s overall budget.

Agriculture, minister Martin Heydon is due to open the event, with other contributors planned to present to attendees.

“The policy framework that determines how Cap works for farming in Ireland is critical to the future of the sector. 

"This event will look at the background to Cap and the current issues that will be part of the negotiations that will play out between now and the end of 2026.

“Ireland will hold the EU Presidency for the second half of 2026, which will be a crucial time period for the talks,” said IFA president Francie Gorman.

Other speakers include: Elli Tsiforou, secretary general of Copa-Cogeca; Tassos Haniotis, former director of strategy and policy analysis at DG Agriculture; and Liam MacHale, IFA Brussels director.
