Minister faces grilling over BSE warehouse
The minister will be asked to explain why residents and local representatives in a rural region on the border between north and south Tipperary were not told that 570 BSE-infected animal carcasses were being stored in a warehouse on their doorstep.
The warehouse is run by the Department of Agriculture Fine Gael's deputy agriculture spokesman, Tom Hayes, will be raising the storage of carcasses at Horse and Jockey with the minister. The unit lies within walking distance of Ballytarsna National School and farm houses.
