The next big public sale for Limerick-based auctioneers GVM is on Wednesday, 9th of September at the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel in Castletroy. There should be a good attendance for this 112-acre property, with simultaneous bidding online via the LSL Auctions website.
Auctioneer Tom Crosse describes this farm as ‘truly top class’, located at Drombanna, approximately 7km south of Limerick City.
“It’s close to the city and it has a lot of road frontage,” says Tom, accentuating some of the holding’s main attributes, whose proximity to a large urban settlement gives it a realistic degree of hope value for sites. “Thus far, there’s been a good number of enquiries on it. We’re expecting strong interest in this property, but you never know when it comes to an auction – not until the day itself.”
The holding is presented in a number of lots: Lot 1 consists of 47 acres of land, including farmhouse and out-offices; Lot 2 contains 50 acres, split by the Commons Road, which connects to the Old Ballysimon Road (R512); Lot 3 contains 15 acres and Lot 4 is the entire holding.
The farmhouse does require some work but it is bright and spacious and has extensive living and bedroom accommodation. The layout includes an entrance hallway, sitting room, sun room, shower room, kitchen and dining room. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, plus another four attic rooms.

“The land is all in grass,” says Tom. “It’s all of very good quality – good soil depth.”

The overall guide price is €2,000,000 - €1,000,000 for Lot 1, €800,000 for Lot 2 and €200,000 for Lot 3.
