Majority D100 bookshelf speakers: Feature-packed, fuss-free, and seriously impressive

Over the past year, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using Majority’s D80 bookshelf speakers — compact, punchy, and remarkably versatile. But for the last few weeks, I’ve had the chance to put the brand’s larger, more powerful sibling — the Majority D100 — through its paces.
Mostly stationed on my desktop, I also tested the D100s connected to my TV via HDMI ARC, paired with my phone over Bluetooth, and linked to a few other devices to understand its all-around performance. From volume output and sound fidelity to day-to-day usability and design, the D100 has quickly made its mark — and not just with its sound.

Physically, the D100 is a noticeable step up in size compared to the D80. It takes up more space on the desk but brings with it a more refined and premium look. The faux wood veneer wrap exudes a natural elegance and offers a vastly improved aesthetic over the D80’s more basic all-plastic construction. This sleek finish gives the D100 a presence that blends beautifully into both workspaces and living areas.
One of the most welcome upgrades is the relocation of the controls. Instead of being awkwardly placed around the back like on the D80, the volume, input, bass, and treble controls are now thoughtfully positioned on the right-hand side of the right speaker. It might seem like a small change, but it makes a massive difference in daily use. You can easily reach over to make adjustments on the fly without twisting the speaker or reaching behind it.
The front of each speaker is covered by a stylish black fabric grille, which can be removed if you prefer a more industrial, exposed driver look. While I would have liked to see magnetic grille attachments for convenience, the rubber eyelets used here keep the covers securely in place without any risk of accidental detachment.

Connectivity is impressively versatile, with ports for audio-in, USB playback and charging, optical input, a 3.5mm headphone jack, RCA phono inputs, and, most notably, an HDMI ARC port for seamless TV audio integration. I particularly appreciated that the power supply is built directly into the main speaker. All you need to do is plug in the included figure-eight power cable, and you're good to go. This results in a cleaner setup with fewer bulky power bricks and less cable clutter.
The 100W output gives the D100 a lively, room-filling presence. The three-driver configuration does an admirable job of separating frequencies: vocals and dialogue remain crisp and detailed, mids are full-bodied, and the bass, powered by Majority’s Xtra Bass tech, is tight and satisfying without becoming overwhelming.
While not quite audiophile-grade in sheer resolution, they’re highly competent for the price bracket. Music playback was immersive, especially with jazz, indie, and acoustic genres.
For films and TV, stereo imaging helped deliver natural left/right separation, improving immersion without needing a full surround setup.
Physical controls on the master speaker allow easy adjustments to bass and treble, and the rotary volume knob has a satisfying clicky resistance that adds to the premium feel.
From casual music listening sessions to intense Netflix binges, the D100 handled it all with minimal fuss. The included metal remote control fits right in with the speakers' premium styling and offers simple controls that cover all your needs.
Since I primarily used the speakers on my desktop, I had the chance to test them with my PC gaming rig and Xbox Series X console. Paired with my 42-inch LG C2 OLED, I noticed no audio lag, and the punchy sound added impact to explosions and depth to ambient soundscapes.
My only real niggle with the D100s is the speaker connection cable. It uses a proprietary 4-pin connector and is only two metres long, which limits how far apart you can position the speakers. Unlike the D80, which uses a standard phono-style connector, you can’t easily replace or extend it.
The Majority D100 bookshelf speakers offer a fantastic combination of premium design, versatile connectivity, and solid sound quality at a budget-friendly price. Whether you're upgrading your TV setup, enhancing your PC audio, or just after a decent pair of all-rounders for music and movies, the D100 delivers.
