Honor Magic V2
Leipzig, Germany, January 26, 2024 – Honor introduces the Honor Magic V2, the world’s thinnest inward-folding smartphone, available in Europe this February. Honor also unveiled a more premium version of their class-leading Magic V2, the Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR.
Media professionals gathered at the prestigious Porsche Experience Centre in Leipzig for an extravagant event unveiling Honor's latest innovations. Amidst the sleek surroundings of the Centre, attendees had the exclusive opportunity to experience the brand-new smartphones firsthand. Regarding functionality, the Magic V2 and Porsche Design Magic V2 RSR offer identical features. The Magic V2 RSR includes all components of the former, such as dual LTPO OLED and 120 Hz displays, four high-resolution cameras, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

The Honor Magic V2, weighing only 231g and measuring 9.9mm when folded, boasts over 210 technological breakthroughs. These specifications make this one of the most desirable phones today. For context, an iPhone 15 Pro Max weighs 240g, while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 weighs 253g.

The weight, slim profile, and large front display make the Magic V2 more practical and usable in folded mode, marking a significant breakthrough for foldable phone technology.
One of the key reasons the Magic V2 is so thin is thanks to Honor’s new battery chemistry. It features a new generation of silicon-carbon-dual-battery with an average thickness of just 2.72mm per battery, ensuring no compromise on flagship 5,000mAh battery power.

Honor also highlighted their use of aviation materials in designing the new hinge mechanism, which uses a titanium alloy crafted through 3D printing technology — a first for foldable devices.
The firm said Its durability isn’t limited to titanium; it also holds an SGS certification, ensuring the phone can surpass 400,000 folds or 100 folds a day for 10 years, promising reliability for a decade of everyday use.

The Magic V2 features a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 20MP telephoto camera. The front-facing dual camera setup has two 16MP cameras. The device supports industry-leading 3,840Hz PWM dimming technology for minimal eye strain.
The Magic V2 introduces cutting-edge Hover capabilities for intuitive interactions, making video conferencing, music playback, and photography more efficient. Dual Tasking Efficiency, enabled by a vertical split-screen, transforms multitasking, allowing users to balance work and leisure seamlessly.

The company said the Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR combines Honor’s human-centric approach with Porsche design aesthetics. The fly line of the rear of the foldable smartphone is intricately reminiscent of the hood of a Porsche 911. They went on to say the improved grip provides a sportscar experience in the user’s palm. The Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR comes in the iconic Porsche car colour, Agate Grey.
The device, weighing slightly more than the standard Magic V2 at 234g is still only 9.9mm thick. It features an Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield for enhanced display durability, providing superior protection against scratches.
The Honor Magic V2 will be available in black vegan leather for €1,999 RRP through Three Ireland starting February 6, 2024. Harvey Norman is also offering The Magic V2 on February 6.
Honor said details on the Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR release and pricing will be disclosed soon.
