Chrome will soon help to block annoying auto-play video ads
Google has teamed up with Adobe to change the way flash content works on the internet. The update to the browser will automatically scan each website you visit and only play the 'central' flash contetn by default. That should mean less blaring video ads you can't seem to shut down, and it's also intended to help extend the battery life of laptops.
You'll also be able to manually select which content does and doesn't play with a simple click and delve into settings to decide how Chrome works in certain situations. With less work to do on every site, Google estimate it should have a significant impact on battery life.
