Deco Engineering welcomes new director with data centre experience

Electrical contractor Deco Engineering has appointed industry specialist Maurice Mortell as a non-executive director board member.

Headquartered in Navan, Co Meath, with operations in Magherafelt, Co Derry, Deco is a leading electrical contractor in the data centre sector. It has led projects for clients across European markets, including Ireland, UK, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Italy and Spain.

Maurice Mortell brings over 25 years of experience in the data centre and digital infrastructure sector, both in Ireland and internationally. His expertise spans strategy, organisational structure, people development, market expansion, and sustainability.

Following the recent formalisation of an ambitious five-year growth strategy to build on its current €20m annual turnover, Deco Engineering has secured over €75m in project work for delivery within the next 24 months, positioning the business strongly for continued expansion.

Maurice Mortell’s previous senior roles include CEO of Data Electronics Group, VP of emerging markets at Telecity Group, and country manager for Ireland at Equinix. He currently serves as a non-executive director for a number of businesses and is currently chairman of Digital Infrastructure Ireland, an organisation representing the digital infrastructure industry.
