ISEQ marginally up

The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed up 4.21 points to 2,967.55 this evening, a rise of 0.14%.

Noteworthy among the risers were DCC, adding 23c to €19.25; Elan Corp, up 18c to €3.98; Kingspan, lifting 7c to €5.68, and Kerry Group, gaining 5c to €24.90.

On the fallers' board, Aryzta dropped €1.08 to €30.25; C&C was down 11c to €3.17; Smurfit Kappa closed down 9c to €8.06 and CRH slipped 4c to €16.30.

Financial stocks were mixed, with AIB unchanged at €0.94 but Bank of Ireland adding 2c to €0.87 and Irish Life & Permanent up 2c to €1.84.
