Bank offers services in Mandarin, Polish and Russian
The corporate sector is starting to cash in on new markets created by our growing non-national population.
Bank of Ireland is providing services in Mandarin, Polish and Russian to help non-English speakers open accounts and apply for credit cards.
The Chinese are the largest ethnic group here, and they have been joined by thousands more from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet republics.
Fergus O'Neill of Bank of Ireland said that they are just responding to the needs of the people.
“The Irish Chinese community would have been of great support to us in putting this together; the immigrant Council of Ireland (gave) great support. They would have had calls that their members needed these kinds of supports put in place,” he said.
