ItsMobile wins Scottish contract

ItsMobile, the Irish software firm behind Dublin’s new mPARK wireless parking payments system, has won the major contract to supply a similar new system to the City of Edinburgh in Scotland.

This will be the first such system to be used in Scotland and the United Kingdom and is only the second meter based wireless parking system in the world next to Dublin.

The system will be available through parking pay & display machines in Edinburgh city centre.

In a further development, The Royal Bank of Scotland announced that it will support the new service making it available to the bank’s FastPay customers in conjunction with ItsMobile.

mPARK is a highly innovative new parking payment service which enables motorists to pay electronically for their parking using their mobile phone.

mPARK will initially be available in the high tariff area in Edinburgh city centre.

The new e-payment system is expected to catch on very quickly and a full roll out will happen during 2003.

ItsMobile’s new mPARK service will allow Edinburgh motorists using Pay & Display machines to bill the cost of parking to their credit card or to their Royal Bank of Scotland and National Westminster Bank FastPay accounts (www.fastpay.com).

In addition, ItsMobile is providing a direct billing service to customers on behalf of City of Edinburgh Council.

ItsMobile is a provider of high volume mobile commerce products and services to the parking, ticketing and leisure industries.
