Asia Pacific Ireland Forum comes to Dublin
Bringing Asia to Ireland was the concluding ambition of the 2010 conference in Hong Kong and, to that end, it comes to Dublin on June 17. Bringing together business professionals working in Asia with experts on Asian culture offering guidance on the resources available, the Croke Park event, entitled New Asia Realities for Irish Business, will provide delegates with an introduction to doing business in Asia, speakers from Asia and Ireland on the reality of doing business in the region, as well as a focus on financial and legal services, technology, education, food and beverages and renewable energy in break-out sessions.
Speakers include Dr T.P. Hardiman of the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation; Terry Woods of the Asian Development Bank; Liam Casey, PCH, China; Sean O’Driscoll, Glen Dimplex; and Tom Coyner, Soft Landing. Korea.
“The APIBF is now the most important gathering of Irish Business people in Asia, positioned to play a close and supporting role to the Irish Government’s Asia strategy,” says Dick Spring, APIBF patron and former Tanáiste.
“Convening professionals doing business in Asia, its members play a vital role in expanding Irish Trade with Asia.”
As well as benefiting from the practical knowledge, delegates will have the chance to network with senior Irish business professionals based in China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The event will also serve as a prelude to the annual ABIBF scheduled for October 14 in Seoul on the eve of the Asian Gaelic Games.
