Irish tourism gets showing at WTM

TOURISM enterprises from Ireland and Northern Ireland were strongly represented at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London this week, heralding the start of the promotional thrust for the 2006 season by Tourism Ireland, the organisation responsible for marketing the island of Ireland overseas.

Tourism Ireland have launched a new brochure as part of its €1.4 million package of investment.

A reinvigorated car touring sector is seen as key to supporting growth from the British market as well as helping to address issues of regional spread and length of stay. Sea access to Ireland from Britain now stands at 240 sailings a week.
