Reward offered in Paris jewel heist
The insurer Lloyds of London is offering up to £676,726 (€777,569) for information leading to the recovery of jewellery stolen in a £73m (€83m) heist from the Harry Winston boutique in Paris last week.
It was one of the world’s largest jewel heists.
The company S.W. Associates, working with Lloyds, said today the exact compensation would be calculated according to the amount of jewellery recovered.
Four gunmen – including three dressed as women – made off with the jewellery at the luxury boutique on one of Paris’ ritziest streets just as night fell last Thursday.
Christmas shoppers were strolling the street near the Champs-Elysees.
The heist came a year after a similar, but smaller robbery at Harry Winston. A reward was offered then, but to no avail.
