US restaurant escapes prosecution for serving Bush's daughters alcohol
The Texas restaurant where US president George W Bush’s 19-year-old twin daughters were involved in an under-age drinking incident will not be prosecuted by the state.
A report by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission said that while an employee at Chuy’s in Austin did serve alcohol to two under-age patrons, including Barbara Bush, criminal charges would not be pursued, partly because the restaurant acted in good faith.
Barbara Bush has pleaded no contest to a charge of being a minor in possession of alcohol from the May 29 incident.
Her sister, Jenna, has pleaded innocent to charges she tried to purchase a margarita with someone else’s identification.
