You can’t have a chat with Liam Brady in a week such as this without first mentioning Gerry Ryan.

As much as he’s glad to have a book out and happy to talk away to you about it, you can tell that he’s hurting over the passing of, as it’s put in the book, “one of my best mates and one of the nicest guys I’ve met in football”.
