Neville loses appeal
Manchester United skipper Gary Neville has lost his appeal against a £5,000 fine from the Football Association for his celebrations during the Barclays Premiership win against Liverpool in January.
United had just grabbed a dramatic late winner through Rio Ferdinand when Neville celebrated in front of the away fans at Old Trafford, grabbing his club badge in jubilation.
The 31-year-old, who is a representative for the Professional Footballers’ Association, was subsequently fined and also warned about his future conduct. He then appealed against the decision.
