Loew in frame for Gunners job

Germany boss Joachim Loew is in the frame to be Arsenal’s next manager, with Arsene Wenger’s current deal expiring next summer, according to reports.

Germany’s national coach has impressed since stepping up from Jurgen Klinsmann’s number two in 2006, guiding his country to the final of Euro 2008 and the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2010 and last year’s European Championship.

The 53-year-old’s contract with the German football federation expires after next year’s World Cup in Brazil and it is thought he would be keen on a return to club management.

Meanwhile, Wenger’s assistant at Arsenal Steve Bould has emerged as a shock candidate to replace Tony Pulis at Stoke.

Pulis’s future at the Brittania Stadium is uncertain following a hugely disappointing second half to the season.
