Hot-shot Smith gives McIlroy food for thought

THE man who could be handed the task of trying to end Northern Ireland’s goal drought pushes himself through a daily training routine in a public park.

Andy Smith is already a hero to the supporters of Glentoran, based in the heart of east Belfast.

The 22-year-old striker plundered 35 goals last season, which took the club to the Irish League title and earned him his first caps in June against Italy and Spain.
