Ashton considers future with English RFU

Brian Ashton is considering his future today after being dumped as England's head coach despite leading the country to second place in the World Cup and the Six Nations.

Ashton has been sacked in favour of former player Martin Johnson, but has been offered his old job as national academy boss with the RFU.

It remains unclear if he will accept the demotion or choose to leave Twickenham altogether.

The latter option is though to be more likely given the manner in which he was treated by RFU bosses while they publicly courted Johnson.
