Carter’s greatness inspired by ‘workaholic’ Wilkinson

Dan Carter admits he could not have climbed to the top of world rugby without Jonny Wilkinson’s workaholic precedent.

The 100-cap New Zealand fly-half admitted England World Cup winner Wilkinson changed the face of professional rugby with a work ethic that drove standards to new heights.

Wilkinson will retire in the summer after 17 years of professional rugby with Newcastle Falcons, Toulon, England and the Lions.
