This afternoon’s all-weather meeting at Wolverhampton will go ahead after an 8am precautionary inspection was brought forward.

Officials had been worried about the prospect of overnight snow in the Dunstall Park area but that nothing arrived.

“The snow that we were forecast failed to materialise,” said clerk of the course Fergus Cameron.

“It did drop to -4C overnight but the temperatures are already on the rise and it is due to get to +4C. It’s all systems go, some good news for a change.”
