O’Brien set for Limerick Bonanza

AIDAN O’BRIEN, rather unusually, runs a number of horses at Limerick this evening and it will be a surprise should Ballydoyle leave empty-handed.

O’Brien set for Limerick Bonanza

O’Brien’s Bonanza, who has been largely disappointing in two runs to date, gets the nap in the Dolan’s Warehouse Maiden.

The son of Danehill made his debut at Goodwood last month. Well supported in the market, he made most, before fading into third spot behind Marcus Tregoning’s War At Sea.

Rather surprisingly, the same tactics were adopted later in the month at Leopardstown. The selection again found the closing stages hard going, finishing only fourth behind Requested Pleasure.

That form, however, received a timely boost when third-placed Tarkesar scored at Gowran Park on Tuesday evening.

It remains to be see how Bonanza will be ridden now, but, no matter, he is the choice in front of John Oxx’s Artist’s Muse.

O’Brien runs two in the Events Parking Handicap and preference is for Jaguar On The Run. Very ordinary, he ran his best race to date when two lengths second to Woodland Dream at Leopardstown last week and going up a furlong in trip should prove in his favour.

O’Brien’s frustrating Down Mexico Way, easily the highest rated horse in the race, tries again in the Limerick Leader Maiden.

But Down Mexico Way is not for me and preference is for Charles O’Brien’s Grand Revival, who indicted he’s on the upgrade when runner-up to Virginia Woolf at Leopardstown.

At Down Royal, Miss Chaussini, who split Zarandja and subsequent winner Legs Lawlor at Leopardstown, can take the Lynam Merit Maiden.
