Atwal takes second title

India’s Arjun Atwal claimed his second Maybank Malaysian Open title today, defeating Sweden’s defending champion Peter Hedblom in a sudden-death play-off at the Kota Permai Golf and Country Club.

Both players parred the first play-off hole, the par-five 18th – but the tournament was decided on the second extra hole when Hedblom three-putted for a bogey at the par-three 17th, before Atwal sank a four-foot par putt to secure the victory.
