Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk were three-under-par midway through today’s first round of the Target World Challenge.
Woods, the host of this tournament that benefits his foundation, made a birdie on the first two holes then birdied the fifth hole en route to a bogey-free 33 on the front nine at Sherwood Country Club.
Furyk, a co-leader with Woods and Colin Montgomerie in 2004, has never won the event.
He also had a bogey-free 33, making birdies on holes two, five and seven.
There are 16 players in the field, including Fred Couples, Steve Stricker and Luke Donald.
Montgomerie was last, six over par after 11 holes.
