Angel Cabrera, Argentina’s first major champion for 40 years, is up from 41st to 17th in the new world rankings.

Cabrera became the fourth successive overseas winner of the United States Open, beating Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk by a stroke at Oakmont to follow in the footsteps of South African Retief Goosen, New Zealander Michael Campbell and Australian Geoff Ogilvy.
