Fellow Irishman Pádraig Harrington and New Zealander Michael Campbell finished tied for third, a further two shots adrift.

Scotland's Colin Montgomerie finished 14 shots off the lead in joint-14th, alongside tournament host Tiger Woods.

World number one Woods finished out of the top two in this event for the first time since 1999.
