Lane shows the way

England’s Barry Lane struck a blow for the older generation in the first round of the Volvo China Open today.

Lane, playing in his 542nd European Tour event, carded a five-under-par 67 to lie just two shots off the lead held by Thailand’s Chawalit Plaphol and France’s Francois Delamontagne.
