Davis, Owen and Price make US Tour

Brian Davis, Greg Owen and Phillip Price were among the stars to come through the US PGA Tour Qualifying School.

Davis took top spot at PGA West in California, former British Masters champion Greg Owen was joint-fourth and Price claimed a tie for 13th, with the leading 30 and ties making the grade.

Davis took a six-stroke lead into the sixth and final round but need that cushion as he just survived a closing two-over-par 74 to finish on 17 under and hold on for a one-shot victory over Bob Rashell.

Owen closed with a 73 but breezed through on 12 under, just seven months after undergoing back surgery.

Price had the most to do on the final day but a 71 saw him move up to nine under.
