A rare longnose golf putter dating from the mid-19th century is expected to fetch between up to £2,500 (€3,670) when it goes up for auction today.

The beechwood club, manufactured in about 1850 by James Wilson at the spiritual home of the game, St Andrews, is among some 600 items of golfing memorabilia being sold.
