O'Grady snatches win at Curragh Pro-Am
Shane O'Grady upstaged everyone in yesterday's pro-am tournamant at The Curragh by walking in at the death with a six-under-par 66 to snatch the winner's cheque after three players were poised to split the loot.
Damian Mooney was also a late finisher and posted a 67 to match the earlier scores of Damian McGrane and John Dignam that had looked safe Mooney, however, missed the chance of sharing the honours with O'Grady as he three-stabbed the last hole to drop a shot.
Black Bush pro O'Grady had a flawless round of six birdies and no bogeys to earn the honours all on his own.
Six birdies also decorated Mooney's card while McGrane made four plus an eagle three at the 15th hole.
Dignam had the biggest birdie haul of the day with seven on his card but he also dropped two strokes.
There were celebrations for the Dignam family as John also led in the winning team that included his father Frank (10) and his mother Helen (28).
The other member was Pat Ennis (14) and they returned a massive 98 points.
