Kind draw for Pádraig

PÁDRAIG HARRINGTON can be reasonably pleased with his draw for the first two rounds of the Open Championship at Turnberry on Thursday and Friday.

The winner for the last two years is out at 2.20pm in the first round and at 9.09am in the second in the company of Jim Furyk and Geoff Ogilvy, two former US Open champions.

He got by far the worst of the weather in last year’s championship at Royal Birkdale, especially on the first morning, and still went on to capture the Claret Jug. He suffered similarly in the recent US Open so he is due a break on this occasion.
