Last year’s beaten finalists, St Catherine’s, are back in the final four of the Co-op Superstores Cork PJHC after the pipped Milford by 1-17 to 0-19 in Kildorrery on Saturday.
An early goal from Rory Galvin, gave them early impetus but by the 52nd minute they trailed by 0-18 to 0-11. They found their mojo again, though and Shane Cotter had them level with two minutes to play.
Milford then got their noses in front again, but two long distance frees from Catherine’s goalkeeper, Eoin Davis, earned them a semi-final spot against Ballygarvan in a fortnight.
Nemo Rangers will play Russell Rovers in the other semi-final after they beat Glen Rovers by 2-13 to 0-16 in Ballincollig.
Eric Dilloughery and Jonathan Kearney scored the Nemo goals while Shane Horgan hit 0-6 to keep them in the hunt for back-to-back county titles.
At the other end of the table Douglas were relegated after Argideen Rangers beat them by 0-17 to 0-16 in Ovens.
John Michael O’Callaghan clipped over 0-7 for the west Cork side while Douglas were reliant on the accuracy of Dylan Murphy.
Finally, John O’Brien and Gearóid Kearney kicked Kinsale to a 0-14 to 1-9 win over Glenville in their re-arranged fixture played in Ballygarvan.
The result puts Kinsale straight into the semi-finals along with Ballyclough while Glenville will play Kilmurry in a quarterfinal next weekend with Canovee and Urhan playing in the other quarterfinal fixture.
