Myself and my good buddy Niall Kennedy were asked to be back where we’re best on Friday night — side by side. Craig O’Brien wanted both of us in his corner for his fight on the undercard of the Callum Walsh show at the 3Arena. But before I got the skintight cornerman gear on, I whipped out my quill and ink to write a bit of poetry for ye.

Niall and myself go back forever but getting together with him on this weekend in particular had me wondering: if everyone is a gent is anyone actually a gent? Niall is a Garda and was a heavyweight pro fighter, two lines of work where you’d be fairly certain you’ll run into a bollocks at some point. Not Niall. Ask him about anyone: “Awww, he’s an absolute gent.”
