High value diamond adds serious sparkle to online sale
A Spectacular 28.86-carat ring, the largest D-colour diamond ever offered online, will come up at Christie's Jewels in New York from June 16-30. With a purity of colour and transparency found only in the finest natural diamonds, this stone is estimated at $1-2 million. It is the highest valued lot ever offered online by Christie's.
One of the oldest diamond shapes, the emerald cut has stylistic origins tracing back to the 1500s. During the Art Deco movement in the 1920s, the cut was modernised based on a shape initially created for emeralds and the style rose in popularity.
