Butcher of Baghdad is miscast as the Messiah

I REFER to the letter from Brian Flanagan (Irish Examiner, March 7) calling for a boycott of America and Israel.

Neither the American administration nor the Israeli government has ever “declared their firm intention to kill hundreds of thousands of Iraqis.” This allegation is false.

Mr Flanagan’s attempt to portray Saddam Hussein, the Butcher of Baghdad, who has murdered thousands of his own citizens with weapons of mass destruction, as ‘Christ in Baghdad,’ is too ridiculous to merit a serious response.
