IT’S time for the GAA to start playing ball.

GAA needs to open the gates to other games

Large amounts of taxpayers’ money have been given to the organisation by successive governments; the attitude taken by the GAA to a simple request by the government to host other sporting events in Croke park represents a take-all and give-nothing policy.

In addition to public money, the GAA also receives huge amounts of revenue in private sponsorship and turnstile money from games. The government should put the foot down on further allotments of public cash until the GAA learn to play on a level pitch.
