Why focus on one form of child abuse?

ACCORDING to statistics, the average paedophile is a married man with two children. I suspect the problem in Ireland is far more widespread than people think.

In addition, we have between 7,000 and 10,000 abortions out of Ireland every year. Surely this, too, is child abuse - and murder?

What about Mary Harney’s assent to 11-year-old girls getting the morning-after pill? Is there not statutory rape involved here?

And the fact that these young girls don’t have to seek parental approval is a breach of trust and an intrusion into the sacredness of the family. Is this not child abuse?

What about the attorney-general allowing homosexual couples to adopt children despite the negative study results. Is this not child abuse?

It seems to me there is an orchestrated campaign and that the media are only interested in permanently damaging the Catholic Church. The good that the Church has done far outweighs the failings of the few.

There are many priests and nuns who have devoted their lives to the cause of justice and who have truly proclaimed the gospel of love.
